The third and last of three community workshops on the master plan for the Three Creeks Trail is taking place July 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Willow Glen Community & Senior Center, 2175 Lincoln Ave.

The trail is a 2.5-mile stretch connecting the Los Gatos Creek Trail with the Guadalupe Creek and Coyote Creek Trails. Input is sought on what should be along the trail, in addition to pedestrian and bicycle lanes.

The meeting will also look at the Willow Glen Trestle over Los Gatos Creek.

This meeting is a chance for those interested to give input on such topics as what else besides trails is important — play areas, seating areas, dog parks or?

Proponents of saving the trestle hope to gain more support for preservation. If the bridge does come down, they would like to see something substantial in its place.

Current plans are criticized as “the most plain and boring, cheapest catalog-order steel-truss bridge.”
